Environmental Policy

I understand that I have a duty to the environment that goes beyond what is legally required. My main goal is to lesson my impact on the environment and consistently enhance my environmental actions as a vital part of my business plan and the way I work. I also urge customers, suppliers, and all those involved to join me in these efforts.

Photography and Videography Travel - A Simple and Efficient Approach

The majority of my photo and video shoots take place within a 15-20 mile area. To ensure smooth and efficient travel, I regularly maintain my vehicle and also ensure the tyres have the correct pressure.

Additionally, I make use of the economy mode in my car and allow plenty of time to reach the shoots. This approach helps me minimize excessive fuel consumption. Looking ahead, I am considering getting a fully electric vehicle or, at the very least, a hybrid for my future work.

When I can, I always prefer to use public transport. Whether working in London or any other big city, I make it a point to take the train.

Working from Home: A Sustainable Solution

I work from home, so I don't have to travel to an office. This  has a positive impact on the environment. 

My workspace is a small room that is fully insulated and has double-glazed windows. When I need to heat the room, I only need to warm up this single space, which helps minimize my carbon emissions.

Energy Efficiency in my Work Environment

In my workspace, I make use of LED lighting and ensure that my computer is set to the energy-saving mode. At the end of the day I always make sure to switch all equipment off.

Equipment Research and Investment

I dedicate significant time to researching various equipment options, ensuring that I acquire high end items that have a longer lifespan. This includes my preference for purchasing pre-owned items whenever feasible. Additionally, I make it a point to support local suppliers in my purchases whenever accessible. 

Any older equipment that I no longer use is either traded in, donated to charity or disposed of in designated recycling facilities.

Digital Imagery Services

I offer digital imagery services, which involve minimal waste compared to other professions. I make use of scrap paper for any necessary note-taking and I rely on rechargeable batteries for all my cameras and lighting equipment.

Sustainable Practices on Location and in the Office

When working on location, I opt for a metal water bottle and if I am unable to recycle any food items on location, I bring them back with me.

The Benefits of Nature

On a personal level, I receive numerous benefits for my physical and mental health from the natural environment. I believe we should all do our bit to not only protect nature but increase it. On my property I have a total of 11 trees, 7 of which I have planted myself.
